Adding extra credit questions to a quiz allows students to answer those questions for extra credit points.

Some question types are auto-graded and will add extra credit points to a student's grade automatically.

Auto-Graded Questions Include:

• Multiple Choice

• Drag & Drop

• True/False

• Fill-in the Blank

• One Word Answers

To add extra credit questions to a quiz

  1. In the quiz settings menu, click on the "activity group" dropdown menu and select a graded group. (e.g. Quiz)

  2. Scroll down and start building your quiz by clicking on the type of question you'd like to add. (e.g. multiple choice question)

  3. When the new question menu appears, click "advanced options."

  4. Click the toggle button to turn on extra credit. The toggle will slide to the right and turn green when the extra credit option is on.

  5. When the extra credit option is active, the "max points" box in the right-hand corner of the question menu changes to "extra credit." This box is where you will enter the number of extra credit points available for the question.

  6. Enter the number of extra credit points available for the question.

Pro-tip: You cannot publish a Quiz with only extra credit questions.
