Is this Assignment for a grade? If yes, how many points is it worth? 100 points is defaulted.
Is this Quiz for a grade? If yes, how many points are each question worth? 10 points per question is defaulted.
Can students turn in their work after the due date? If no, then “lock the assignment or quiz”
Is it an optional activity? e.g., you might include an optional video they can watch if they are interested in learning more about the topic. If yes, then turn on the “optional toggle”
Note: optional quizzes and assignments are automatically “skipped” once the date passes.
Can this activity be created as a reusable template or created as a batch? - I’ll show you how to batch assignments and quizzes in another training session.

Go to Course Builder. Select the Unit you want to add your new activity to. Click +Add Activity to add a new assignment or quiz.
Pro-Tip: Create all your assignments and quizzes for one unit, then decide what can be created as a template or batched.
