As we move to Skipper 2.0 from our previous platform, we understand that you may have questions about what changes are taking place, what will remain the same, and how these changes may impact you.

We compiled FAQs to address common questions and information that will help you understand the migration process, the differences between the platforms, and the future direction of Skipper 2.0.

We aim to make this transition seamless for everyone, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Using the Legacy Platform

Can I continue teaching my Homeschool courses on the legacy platform?

Yes, you can access the legacy platform until your courses are completed.

Can I create a new course on the legacy platform?

Creating new courses on the legacy platform is no longer possible. To create new courses, please use the Skipper 2.0 platform.

Currently, I am teaching my class. Could you transfer it to the new platform?

Due to the many changes in our courses, synchronization between the legacy and new platforms is impossible. After completing your course, contact customer service for assistance in migrating the course onto the new platform.

When will the legacy platform be shut down?

Our legacy platform will remain operational for an extended period. So customers can access their courses, grades, and previous coursework without interruption.

How do I access the legacy platform?

We've moved the sign-in links to the bottom of the Skipper 2.0 sign-in page and on Skipper's website.

Transferring Courses and Records

Can I transfer courses to the new platform?

Yes! Moving courses to the new platform is possible, but it's important to note that the course must be restarted. We regret to inform you that we cannot migrate in-progress courses, submissions, or grades in progress to the new platform.

How do I add my old courses to the new platform?

If you want to transfer your courses, message our customer service team. We will handle migrating the course for you and notify you as soon as it is ready.

Can I access my previous coursework on the new platform?

We cannot transfer your past coursework, submissions, and grades to the new platform. However, you can view and download your past coursework and records using the legacy platform.

In the future, can I access past records on the new platform?

Our Transcripts and Recordkeeping feature will be launched in the future, and we hope to transfer previous records to the new platform.

Skipper 2.0 Accounts

The new platform does not recognize my email or username.

Please contact customer service to receive your login information.

When will I receive details on how to log in to the new platform?

If you haven't received an email containing the login instructions, please contact customer service.

Does my email and password still work on the new platform?

The accounts on the new platform are entirely new, and your previous password will not be valid. If you have not received instructions on accessing the new platform or don't have a new account yet, please contact customer service for assistance.

I tried logging into the new platform as instructed but got an error message.

Here are the steps you should take:

  1. Ensure you're on the correct sign-in page.

  2. Click the "forgot password" link to reset your password.

  3. Contact customer service for assistance if you're still encountering issues.

Skipper 2.0 Features

I miss some of the features you had on the legacy platform. Will they be added to the new platform?

We love hearing user feedback, as it helps guide our development efforts. If you miss specific features from the legacy platform, please send us a message detailing them. While we cannot guarantee the return of every component, your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve and enhance the Skipper 2.0 platform.

The legacy platform had so many more features. Why doesn't the new platform have them?

I'm happy you appreciate Skipper's extensive list of features. However, due to the numerous components and settings, we couldn't finish everything before transitioning everyone to the new platform. Our main priority was ensuring that essential features were fully operational on the new platform.

Please be assured that we are working hard to develop more features and functions for the new platform. Your patience and feedback are valuable to us during this transition, and we are fully committed to providing a superior and improved user experience on Skipper 2.0.
