How to Duplicate, create and Import Unit Templates into Your Course

Looking to speed up your course development process? Check out the benefits of duplicating units and using templates! This article outlines the steps on how to incorporate templates into your course-building process, making your course-development process a breeze.

  1. Go to the Course Builder: Navigate to the course builder and select the unit you wish to turn into a template.

  2. Click the edit unit icon: Open the Unit side panel to access the Save as a Template or Duplicate Unit option.

  3. Save as a Template or Duplicate: Click the three dots to open the drop-down menu. Here, you can choose to save the unit as a template or duplicate it inside your current course.

  4. Go to the Template: Once saved as a template, click "Templates" on the top navigation bar.

  5. Filter the Templates: Selec the "Unit" filter inside the Template section. This will show you only the Units. You can further filter the view by selecting created by "Me".

  6. Select the Unit: Click the "Use" button next to the Unit you wish to import into your course.

  7. Importing the Template: In the popup window, choose the course you wish to add the unit to, specify its placement within the course, and set the appropriate start date for your activities.

  8. Final Adjustments: Upon importing, note that the unit will be hidden to students until toggled on. You can rearrange the Unit order, edit or delete the Unit as desired.

This process helps you create duplicate courses quickly. Not only will you save time, but it also provides consistency across multiple courses. administrative tasks.
